Sharing is caring!

Everything in creation is governed by a sets of rules or Laws.

Whether you take a moment to recognize them or not, doesn’t change the fact that they are there!

The cycle of day becoming night, which in turn becomes day again is evidence of this.

The Hermetics referred to one of the Laws which governed such things as the Principle of Polarity.

“Everything is Dual; everything has poles, everything has its
pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are
identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet;
all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be
reconciled.”

The Kybalion.

This is one of my personal favorites when it comes to the Universal Principles of the Hermetics. I feel that there is very little that better explains or honors the complexities of human nature, as well as the world in general.

Understanding this Principle in life allows us the ability to see things from another perspective; it shows us that hot and cold are both the same thing, separated only by the degree at which they vibrate… They are both temperature.

“Thesis and antithesis are identical in nature, but different in degree”

In coming to terms with the identical nature of physical elements such as hot and cold, we just might be able to begin down the path of understanding that the same is true of thought and emotion. The same is also true of light and dark. Where does the dark end and the light begin? Both in the physical world and within our own selves.

Understanding the Principle of Polarity creates such a beautiful space for us to arrive at for several reasons:

  1. We cannot love and hate something at the same time. This is because they are the same emotion! This means that when we hate something (or someone) we have the ability to love it (or them) by nothing nothing more than shifting our vibration.
  2. WE have ultimate control over what we experience in our life. If we are experiencing something and we don’t like it, we have the power to experience the complete opposite of it. We can also experience any degree of it between the two polar opposites.
  3. We might actually begin to understand that “right and wrong” and “good and evil” actually cancel each other out as the extremes meet in the middle. Imagine the tolerance we could cultivate for each other when we act from a place of low vibration, if we stood in the junction where these opposites meet!

How do we make use of this understanding for our own empowerment?

We empower ourselves when we are able to make a choice. As long as we act from blind reaction, we have no empowerment and are victims to external situations. This Universal Principle is SO powerful for our everyday life because it shows us that as easily as we can turn ice into hot water, we can turn hate into love.

The trick is in coming to the understanding that we are not actually “changing” anything! Hot water already contains everything that ice does. We have merely increased the vibration of the ice by applying heat to it.

When we are stuck in hate or fear, KNOWING that the hate and fear already contains everything that love does is our greatest tool. All we need to do is increase the vibration. We do this by breathing into the hate or fear and sending our gratitude to it. Love transmutes… it is all expansive and is the REAL power of Alchemy.

The way to increase the vibration of ANYTHING, is to apply a higher vibration to it. Sounds really simple right?

THIS is why Alchemy was so difficult to understand… because of it’s simplicity. The early Alchemists KNEW that it was a flaw of human nature to seek complication in everything. As such, they hid their art in plain sight.

Love doesn’t fade when it is given. It increases the vibration of everything it touches.

This relationship is destructive and if you have such hostile feelings that hit both ends of the spectrum, then it s probably not a good idea to stay in this relationship.

The article has nothing to do with relationships.
It’s referring to an Arcane Universal Principle.
Perhaps re-read it and see what you can get from it a second time 🙂
