Sharing is caring!

I want you to take a moment and think about something.

You know the way that you currently see the world?

Well, there’s a chance that…

It might not be true!

What do I actually mean by that? Well it’s an incredibly vast topic so let’s take a look at it from a particular angle and start there.

All of the people you currently interact with in your life, your immediate loved ones; wife, husband, children. Your work colleagues. Even the girl or guy that serves you coffee in that little shop of a morning on your way to the office.

Imagine if these people were not actually there! Can you try for a second to stretch your mind over this concept?

What if every single person was nothing more than a particular aspect of your own subconscious, working hard at teaching you something you need to know?

How radically different would you act if you came to understand that the ENTIRE WORLD existed only because you exist, and it was responding to your current state; responding to your need to learn, grow and expand!

So imagine you’re sitting there on your lunch break, in a little park and minding your own business. Someone comes up to you and they start to tell you something that makes you angry. What is it about what they’ve said that triggered your emotions? Break it right down to the actual mechanics of why…

Did you manage to find the reason for the trigger?

Now instead, imagine that there really was no other person. This “someone” that came up to you was actually a construct of your own subconscious mind, telling you something about yourself that you are not yet aware of. Perhaps they didn’t directly state it. Perhaps what they said to you that made you angry was purely to draw attention to your reaction. Can you imagine such a thing?

Now let’s change the angle a little. Let’s take it deeper…

What if every single little thing that crosses our path in life was exactly the same as this? What if that crow that just flew right in front of your face as you walked to meet a work colleague wasn’t actually there? Is there a chance that it could be symbolic of something deeper… some aspect of a “living library system” that needs you to focus on a particular something for your own awareness and growth?

Perhaps you’ve awoken one day to a house full of insects. Is there a chance that you could work at understanding what they are trying to tell you rather than reacting into a blind state of immediate eradication of the pest?

So let’s say that you’ve taken the step into this strange new realm of thought and can imagine what you’re reading as a possible truth. What do you do with such a truth? When someone says something that triggers your anger, will you now place less focus on them and more on why you’ve reacted?

Will you look for a deeper meaning behind the seemingly random events and encounters that fall across your path?

Would you stop shielding yourself from the natural world and allow it to interact with you in a beautiful energetic dance? Would you feel cold and hot as they presented themselves to you without hiding in climate control? Do you think you would you look for understanding rather than concealment? Would you recognize the teachers as they came to you?

Transform your Reality

You see the reality is, nothing you’ve just read may mean anything at all. It might be little more than the false gibbering of a caffeine deprived mind coming up with crazy and impossible scenarios. But having said that, do you think if you approach life in a way where you are dealing with aspects of your own self, that you may use a gentler touch?

Will you look within when you encounter someone that pushes your buttons rather than seeking defensive thought or self justification?

I totally get this concept, and always try to think from this perspective.
So I do have a house chronically infested by ants. Actually, the whole island I live on is infested by ants. They bite. They bite me in bed, the bite me in the garden, they bite me when I am teaching yoga, they bite me when I’m giving a client a massage. They bite everyone else here too. I would love to learn this lesson, so they can swim off or just perform a massive suicide. Any useful hint? Maybe just make a move?

    Hi Leontien,

    Try this:

Encountering an ant you should consider that all good things come with time, and effort. Work with diligence, with conviction, and work with others in order to forge your dreams and turn them into reality. Despite their tiny size these little spirits are immensely strong, great strength of will and accomplishment can come even in the smallest of packages.
Alternatively it may be time to consider your own role, concentrate on your specialties and make sure you are making the most of your natural gifts. However, remain aware that nothing can be accomplished without the unity of the whole. Think about how your own contributions in your career, your family, and day to day life fit into the larger picture. No matter how small your task, or your contribution, it is still essential.
